Installation

Setup & care

Simple setup—plant the pole, spread the lights, and enjoy!

Use these instructions online whenever you set up or take down your tree. Outdoor use only.

  1. Plant the pole. Push it into the ground to the one-foot mark, reasonably straight.
  2. Unwrap the lights. Remove the ties and gently separate the LED strings. Untangling is usually the trickiest part.
  3. Spread and stake. Arrange the strings evenly around the pole and secure the stakes.
  4. Step back and adjust. Perfection isn’t necessary. A little crossing or twisting near the top is normal and usually isn’t noticeable; close enough is good. Plug in and enjoy!

Keep the strings slightly loose, never pulled tight. The bungees help with wind; they are not for tensioning the lights.

Light it your way. Leaving the lights on 24/7 is optional—no timer necessary, and they look great in the daytime, too. We estimate a cost of $0.50 per month to run it continuously.

Make next year easier

Careful bundling at takedown helps avoid next year’s tangles.

  1. Unplug the lights before taking down the display.
  2. Move the stakes inward to gather the strings around the pole.
  3. Bundle the strings with the supplied ties at the upper, middle, and lower portions.
  4. Capture the stakes in order as you bundle, keeping the strings together for storage.

Choose your setup and takedown dates freely; warmer weather can make it more comfortable. If you wait too long, frozen ground makes pole insertion difficult.
